Mada Center Participated in the 3rd UNESCO World OER Congress

Mada Center participated in the 3rd UNESCO World OER Congress, themed “Digital Public Goods: Open Solutions and AI for Inclusive Access to Knowledge.” Held in Dubai on November 19-20, 2024, the Congress was organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF). The event convened global leaders, policymakers, educators, and experts to explore the pivotal role of Open Educational Resources (OER) in advancing equity, accessibility, and innovation in the digital age. The Congress aimed to advance targeted actions to promote digital commons as a public good, building on the implementation of the UNESCO 2019 Recommendation on OER.
In a moment of pride for Mada, its impactful projects were highlighted in the opening address by the UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information, showcasing Mada’s significant contributions to shaping a more inclusive and accessible future.
As a speaker in a session on Inclusive Access to OER, Mada’s representative shared insights into the Mada’s pioneering initiatives, particularly in fostering open and inclusive digital education for all. These efforts align with Mada’s mission to empower stakeholders and bridge the knowledge and competency gaps in ICT Accessibility.
